Sales Strategy Transformation

DYM Recruitment Thailand provides talent placement services to Japanese companies operating in Thailand, covering both Thai professionals and locally hired Japanese talent. Built on a foundation of specialized teams organized by function, the company has grown into a ten-person operation serving clients across industries, with a particular strength in manufacturing. After adopting PORTERS, DYM transformed its approach to sales from an individual-driven model into a data-driven operation, ultimately achieving its highest-ever monthly revenue in 2026. In this article, we spoke with the Management Director Ms. Hinaho Kamiya about the journey.
“The closure rate in regional areas is actually higher than in Bangkok. That single insight from the data changed our entire sales strategy.”

ー Hinaho Kamiya, Management Director

Company Overview

Q
Please tell us about the scope of your recruitment business.
A

DYM Recruitment Thailand provides talent placement services to Japanese companies operating in Thailand. We focus on introducing both Thai professionals and locally hired Japanese talent, covering all industries, job functions, and locations across the country. Our client base includes a particularly strong concentration of manufacturing companies.

Our team is organized by specialization, with dedicated groups covering specific job categories such as sales, finance, and HR. Each team handles the full process from candidate sourcing through placement into client companies. At present, we operate with ten people in total, consisting of two Japanese staff and eight Thai colleagues.

Background and Decision to Adopt PORTERS

Q
What prompted you to consider adopting PORTERS?
A

Before PORTERS, we did not have a systematic way of managing or accumulating our data. Information was never properly turned into a company asset. In the period when only one Japanese staff member was on the ground, that person had to handle everything from management and sales to labor affairs and accounting, which meant the numerical side of the business was often pushed aside.

As a result, we simply did not have the data we needed to set up proper KPIs or build a meaningful business plan. We were missing the foundation required to make sound strategic decisions about the future.

Q
What were the deciding factors in choosing PORTERS?
A

The biggest factor was familiarity. Our Tokyo headquarters was already using PORTERS, which meant we knew the system and could start using it comfortably from day one.

The strong market share of PORTERS in the recruitment industry and its track record with other companies in our space also gave us confidence.

Beyond that, PORTERS brought a level of expert perspective that we could not have achieved on our own. The system comes with pre-defined fields for the kinds of information a recruitment business should be capturing, which gave us a professional standard for data management right from the start. This helped us avoid the common problem of scattered, unmanaged spreadsheets and enabled true centralized data management.

How PORTERS Is Used

Q
How specifically do you use PORTERS in your operations?
A

For us, PORTERS functions less as a pure matching tool and more as a data foundation for business analytics and management decision making. We use it heavily on the sales support side to manage and analyze our commercial activity.

One of the most important use cases is analyzing trends in closed deals. We look at the data from multiple angles, including client location, industry, and candidate attributes, to understand where our strengths lie and what patterns exist in our placements. These insights then feed directly into our business planning for the following period.

Q
Are there any unique approaches to matching in specific regions?
A

Yes. The Thai job market has a relatively high rate of job turnover compared to some other markets, and we treat that as an opportunity rather than a challenge. Even candidates we previously placed at other companies remain valuable data in our system. When a new matching opportunity arises, we can use the filter function to identify past candidates whose profiles fit the new role and reach out to them again. This has already led to successful placements that would not have been possible without that accumulated data.

Results After Adoption

Q
What tangible results have you experienced since adopting PORTERS?
A

The clearest result was achieving our highest-ever monthly revenue in 2026. This was driven by a major shift in our sales strategy, and that shift was made possible by PORTERS.

When we analyzed our deal data, we discovered something counterintuitive. While the volume of inquiries from Bangkok was higher, the number of closed deals from regional areas, including industrial zones, was nearly the same. That insight led us to expand our sales focus beyond Bangkok into those regional markets. As a result, we captured new demand that we had previously been missing, and the closure rate in those areas turned out to be even higher than in Bangkok. This contributed directly to the revenue milestone.

Q
Were there any unexpected secondary benefits?
A

The level of proactive support from PORTERS exceeded our expectations. We set up a Facebook Messenger group that connects all of our staff, both Japanese and Thai, directly with the PORTERS support team. This meant that not just our designated contact, but anyone in the team could ask questions freely and get answers quickly.

That setup also changed our internal culture in a positive way. Our Thai staff started proactively learning how to use the system and sharing tips with management, creating a virtuous cycle of knowledge accumulation around the tool. The platform became a starting point for internal communication rather than just a piece of software.

5

Strengths of PORTERS

Q
What do you see as the key strengths of PORTERS?
A

The most important strength for us is how PORTERS provides an expert-level framework for data management out of the box. The system defines what should be captured and how, which is far more valuable than it might initially sound. For a growing business, having that kind of professional standard built in removes the need to reinvent it internally.

The all-in-one nature of the platform is also a real advantage. Candidate management, job tracking, sales activity, and performance data all sit in one place, which prevents information from being fragmented across tools and spreadsheets.

The support structure is equally strong. Having direct access to responsive support through familiar communication channels has made it easy for our team to keep learning and improving how we use the system.

Message to Companies Considering Adoption

Q
What message would you give to companies considering PORTERS?
A

If you are serious about building a recruitment business that grows data rather than on individual effort, PORTERS is a strong choice. The real value is not just in managing candidates, but in turning your daily operations into insights that can drive strategy.

Internally, we have found that creating a culture where data is visualized, shared, and discussed openly is what unlocks the full potential of the system. When we change strategy, we always visualize the underlying data in PORTERS through graphs and clear evidence and share the reasoning with our Thai staff so they understand why we are moving in a certain direction. That alignment is what makes fast execution possible, and PORTERS gives us the foundation to do it.

Future Outlook

Q
What is your vision for the future of your recruitment business?
A

We are planning to double our team from ten to twenty people over the next business year. At the moment, when people in Thailand hear the name DYM, the first thing that comes to mind is often our medical and clinic business, which has built strong recognition over the years. Our goal going forward is to build the same level of recognition for our recruitment business, so that DYM also becomes synonymous with recruitment in this market.

To get there, we will continue to invest in the systems and culture that have brought us this far: data-driven decision making, fast execution, and a team that works together across languages and backgrounds. Continuing to grow the business on that foundation is our focus for the period ahead.

From the PORTERS Editorial Team
DYM Recruitment Thailand's experience offers a compelling example of how a recruitment firm can transform its entire business through data. By shifting from individual-driven operations to a culture where strategy is grounded in visualized data and shared across a multilingual team, DYM achieved its highest-ever monthly revenue and is now positioned for rapid expansion. We are especially encouraged to see how Ms. Kamiya and her team used insights from PORTERS to reframe their regional sales strategy, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth as they scale toward a twenty-person team.
